Alcatraz Hotel of Germany – A prison turned hotel

If you ever visit the town of Kaiserslautern in Germany, don’t forget to checkout the Alcatraz Hotel.

Once a prison, this hotel lets guests get that jailhouse feeling by spending a night behind bars for about 50 Euros.


The hotel rooms are actual cells of the prison complete with iron doors, iron grilled windows, metal beds and in-cell toilets. There are also collective showers on each floor. To make the experience complete guests are given pinstriped pajamas to wear for the night!
