The Gamirasu Cave Hotel in Cappadocia Turkey is unlike any other.
Located in an area where its inhabitants have lived for nearly 5 thousand years, this cave hotel dates back one thousand years to when it was once a Byzantine monastic retreat. In 1999, the Christian monastery was restored to become a 30 room cave hotel for backpakers, honeymooners and adventurers alike. Activities offered at the hotel include horse back riding, relaxing with a spa treatement, taking a Turkish cuisine course, learning about the agriculture in the community (the towns main source of income), yoga and massage therapy, observe the whirling Derivishes, or get married in the 13th Century Byzantine cave chapel.
